PM asks Orissa CM to restore normalcy in riot hit ares

New Delhi : In the wake of on going violence in Orissa following the killing of Swamiji, the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Thursday spoke to Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and requested him to take immediate steps to bring normalcy in the riot hit Kandhamal district.

He also advised the Chief Minister to provide immediate relief to the affected people, particularly children.

Earlier on Thursday A delegation of Catholic Bishops Conference of India along with Archbishop of Delhi met the Prime Minister Manmohan singh today and apprised him of the recen situation in Orissa.

Prime Minister mentioned that the Central Government was in touch with the State Government and every effort would be made to restore normalcy in the State.

In yet another significant development the Orissa High Court today asked Orissa govt to bring normalcy in the State.

Mean while Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said that, all the efforts have been taken to keep the situation normal and more companies of paramilitary forces have been deployed.
