Bhubaneswar ( Orissa) : The killing of Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati who spearheaded the campaign against the religious conversion and cow slaughter in the tribal dominated district of Kandhamal for four decades, establishes the link between the Maoists with the minority community alleged Mahanta Krushna Charan Dash Goswami, president of the Matha Mandir Surakhsya Parishad.
Goswami was here at the city on his way to Kandhamal to attend the funeral of Swami Laxmanananda at Chakapada in Kandhamal district.
Speaking to the newspersons, Goswami stated that the minority community had been trying to diminish the Sanatana Dharma into a mere minority though its a majority one in the country.
They were targeting the innocent tribal people and converting them and Swami Laxmanananda had been trying to prevent such type activities against the Sanatana Dharma he said.
Swami was symbol of the Sanatana Dharma and had successfully stood for this cause to protect the interest of the millions of people having faith in the Sanatana Dharma based on the principles of Hindu religion, Goswami stated.
He further said that a community that was minority in the Kandhamal district was becoming a majority through its conversion activities. And Swami was an obstacle for the minority community, as he could organizes the Hindu people and had successfully reconverted the people into the Hindu fold.
Finding no way out to stop such a man who was preventing conversion in the district and had been the symbol of faith, the minority community with the help of the Maoists had killed him at his Ashram located in the Kandhamal district, alleged Goswami.
He also alleged that that some of the politicians were hand in glove with the Maoists and the minority community.
The administration could not provide the required security despite the threat to his life as he had already lodged an FIR in the nearest police station following the letter allegedly being written by the Maoists.
Swami was killed by the assailants who were having the links with the Maoists as they were carrying the AK 47 guns which were often used by such groups, certainly not by anti socials, alleged Goswami.
With the death of Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati, a strong pillar of the Sanatana Dharma had been destroyed, Goswami opined.
Goswami also went to the extent of asking the credentials of the UPA Govt. at the Centre which is maintaining silent and were not reacting to such a brutal killing of a religious leader happened to be the symbol of Hindu faith.
