Puri Jagannath Temple Simhadwar reopens

Puri: The Simhadwar (Lions’ Gate), the main entrance to the Shri Jagannath Temple was reopened for devotees on Saturday.

The gate had remained closed for two weeks for repairs by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). After placing of the Dasavatar idols atop the gate arch on Saturday morning, ASI-engaged workers dismantled the scaffoldings and opened the gate.
