Bhubaneswar: Pre-monsoon rain brought respite from sweltering heat in many parts of Odiha including capital city of Bhubaneswar today

Rain occurred in afternoon in many parts of Odisha  for about an hour and breezes blowing giving a relief from intense heat wave conditions.

Meanwhile authorities in Odisha Friday confirmed one more death due to sunstroke, taking the number of heat-related deaths in the state this summer to 37.

According to news agencies the latest death was reported from Kantia village under Sukinda police station area in Jajpur district, a senior official of the state disaster management department said.

Titilagarh town in the district of Bolangir recorded a maximum temperature of 42.5 degrees Celsius -- the day's highest in the state.
