Bhubaneswar:  Pyarimohan Mohapatra quit as the BJD's leader in Rajya Sabha on Saturday,
"I have submitted my resignation letter to the chairman of Rajya Sabha," Pyari told media persons here upon his return from New Delhi.

While most leaders in the BJD have not reacted to Pyari quitting the RS post, Rajya Sabha member Sashi Bhusan Behera (BJD) said, "As he has been suspended from the party, he must have resigned either due to propriety or to facilitate election of another person as the BJD leader in RS."
