Odisha DG, home secretary take stock of Maoist situation in Koraput today

Koraput: Odisha DGP Prakash Mishra and home secretary Vipin Saxena today visited Koraput to take stock of the Maoists situation in the district after the killing four BSF personnel in an ambush near Pottangi.

Speaking to media Mishra said law and order situation is under control in southern district including Koraput, Nabrangpur, Malkangiri and Raygada.
 
Mishra and Saxena held discussion with collectors and SPs of Koraput, Nabrangpur, Malkangiri and Raygada on the about anti-Naxal strategy being adopted to curb maoist menace in the area.

Inspector General (IG) for operation, Soumendra Priyadarshi, BSF IG AK Sharma, DIG South-Western Range Debadata Singh and other senior officials were also presented during the meeting.

Notably, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had asked the Home Secretary Vipin Kumar Saxsena and DGP Prakash Mishra to immediately rush Maoist hit Koraput district following Maoists attack on BSG convoy.
