Berhampur: A day after he walked out of jail, former Maoist leader D Keshab Rao alias Azad on Wednesday said if given a chance, he would be willing to teach.“I have just reached home after spending over 15 years in jail. I will spend some days with my family and villagers,” said the 50-year-old Azad.A native of Srikakulam district in Andhra Pradesh, Azad, who did his PG in public administration from Odisha State Open University while in prison and also has a PG diploma in rural development from Indira Gandhi National Open University, wished to teach students. “If get a chance, I will teach them,” he said.Azad was released from the jail on Tuesday evening after a special court at Paralakhemundi in Gajapati district acquitted him in the 2008 murder of Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati and his four disciples.Following his release, Azad drove straight to Nallabodduluru village in Srikakulam district. Family members, including his mother, younger brother and sisters, were waiting for him, and so were the villagers. “I am feeling very happy now. I have been freed after a long battle,” Azad said.
