Ravi Kishan’s daughter Rivva Kishan says she is ‘not at all’ in dating phase: ‘If someone wants to win my heart, they’ll need my father's permission’
Rivva Kishan says dating is not on her radar right now: ‘You’ll need my father Ravi Kishan’s permission’ and good vegetarian cooking skills might help!

Rivva Kishan, daughter of Bhojpuri superstar and politician Ravi Kishan, has revealed that dating is currently not on her priority list. The actor, who recently participated in the reality show Alliance, said she is more focused on her family and career at this stage of her life. However, when asked what it would take for someone to win her heart, Rivva had a humorous answer – her father’s permission and good vegetarian cooking skills.Asked if she would be open to dating one of her fans, Rivva laughed and admitted that she is not really in a dating phase.“Pata nahi. Main dating wale phase mein hi nahi hoon. Mujhe nahi lagta ki main dating aur in sab cheezon mein hoon. So, mushkil hai,” Rivva told Filmygyan. (I don’t know. I’m not in the dating phase at all. I don’t think I’m into dating and all these things, so it’s difficult.)Rivva further explained that her priorities at present are her family and work. “I’m more about family and the way I see my life right now is doing work. Dating and all, if ever a partner mil gaya journey mein, so be it. But dating is not at all right now on my book,” she said.

‘You’ll need my father’s permission’

When asked what qualities could make someone win her heart, Rivva once again brought her father into the conversation.“My God, aapko permission leni padegi papa ki. Of course leni padegi. Papa ki permission ke bina kuch nahi hota is ghar mein, ye jaan lo,” she said with a laugh. (My God, you’ll have to get my father’s permission. Of course, you will. Nothing happens in this house without my father’s permission, just so you know.)She then added another rather specific requirement, “Aur agar achha khana banana aata ho, shuddh shakahari khana bana sako, toh shayad socha ja sakta hai. Then there is a chance.” (And if you know how to cook good food, especially pure vegetarian food, then perhaps it can be considered. Then there is a chance.)

Rivva on being Ravi Kishan’s daughter and proving herself in Bollywood

Rivva made her Bollywood debut with Sab Kushal Mangal, opposite Priyank Sharma, son of actor Padmini Kolhapure. Directed by Karan Kashyap, the 2020 film marked her first major step into the industry.Addressing whether being Ravi Kishan’s daughter made her journey easier, Rivva acknowledged that her family name can open doors, but said it cannot replace hard work.“Yes, you can be referred because I am my father’s daughter. People know and they can approach you. But you have to prove yourself, and it takes a lot to prove yourself,” she said.Rivva also admitted that she was not as prepared as she is today when she worked on Sab Kushal Mangal. “I have no problem accepting that. If you’re not ready, accept it. Nobody is born with skills. You learn, you explore, you figure out what is right and what is wrong, and then you make your decision and go for it,” she said.

‘There is pressure, but I have to focus on myself’

Rivva also opened up about the pressure that comes with being Ravi Kishan’s daughter. According to her, the pressure is not always visible but exists because of the expectations attached to her father’s name.“Of course, there is a certain kind of pressure that you can’t see, but people are seeing you holding that kind of pressure. But it’s okay,” she said. The actor added that she believes in taking a slow and steady approach to her career. “If you are true to your work, passionate and working hard, just work for it. Slow will be okay. You don’t have to rush yourself to get overnight success. You can also go very well with the ‘slow and steady wins the race’ ideology,” Rivva said. She added that her father’s advice has been simple: “Be real.” According to Rivva, Ravi Kishan has always encouraged her not to imitate someone else’s journey. “Don’t look at the world and think that maybe if I do this, it will work for me. It will never work for you. You have your own journey, your own hard work, your own experience, your own skills,” she said.

Rivva says she loves politics but is currently focused on acting

While Ravi Kishan has established himself in politics alongside his acting career, Rivva said she is interested in politics too. “I love politics. I have. I find it very interesting. You get to learn a lot and understand different personalities,” she said. However, she is not looking at entering politics anytime soon. “For now, I’m just focused on acting. Please, let me just do acting and be focused and just do interesting things. You never know, I will never say no. But as of now-acting,” Rivva said. For now, Rivva appears determined to carve out her own identity as an actor, while keeping both romance and politics on the back burner.
