In a report on Variety, a sequel to the hit film is in the works at Paramount with original actress Kate, attached to produce the project.

According to the report, the sequel is still in its early stages, with a screenwriter yet to be hired and several key creative and casting decisions still to be made, but the studio and filmmakers are reportedly hoping that the film’s leading duo – Hudson and McConaughey will return as Andie Anderson and Benjamin Barry. However, casting for the film will ultimately depend on the direction of the script.
