Rourkela: Sundargarh police on Saturday arrested three alleged members of an interstate dacoity gang from Chhattisgarh and foiled a planned robbery targeting trucks plying at night under the Talsara police station limits. The accused were identified as Bishal Kumar Kispotta (23), Rustam Kujur (26) and Sanju Kujur (25), all residents of Deori village in Chhattisgarh’s Surguja district.Police said a patrol team led by sub-inspector Damayanti Mahanta received a tip-off on the night of August 27-28 about the presence of suspected criminals near Saunamura Chowk on State Highway-24. Acting on the information, the team conducted a raid and apprehended the three men as they allegedly attempted to flee.During the search, police seized knives, iron rods, lathis, red chilli powder, face masks, a plastic rope, a torchlight and other articles allegedly meant to be used in a dacoity.During interrogation, the accused allegedly confessed that they had assembled at the secluded spot to rob trucks moving along the highway at night, police said.
