Sunny Deol is back on set, picking up where he left off on Antony after wrapping his commitments to ‘Batwara 1947’. The actor has begun the next schedule of the upcoming cop thriller, with the current leg of filming focused entirely on high-octane action sequences.

Sunny Deol resumes ‘Antony’s shoot

According to a Mid-Day report, the latest schedule for ‘Antony’ kicked off at Film City on August 26, with Sunny shooting extensive action portions for the film. Directed by Balaji Ganesh, the movie sees him play a police officer investigating a crime syndicate, and the current shoot has brought in action director Ravi Verma to helm the sequences. As the report noted, “The unit is currently focusing on the high-octane action sequences of the film that sees Sunny as a cop trying to bust a crime syndicate. With action director Ravi Verma, the actor has been shooting car chase sequences.”Sunny is expected to complete his portions for the film by October, with more action-heavy material still to be shot before the production moves forward.

‘Ramayana: Part 2’ awaits after ‘Antony’

Once ‘Antony’ wraps, Sunny is set to shift focus to ‘Ramayana: Part 2’, where he plays Lord Hanuman in Nitesh Tiwari‘s ambitious two-part mythological saga. While his role in the first film is relatively brief, his part is expected to expand considerably in the sequel. As per the report, “While Sunny, as Lord Hanuman, makes a brief appearance in the first part, he will have major action and dramatic sequences in the sequel.” ‘Ramayana: Part 1’, which stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, is scheduled for release this Diwali 2026.

‘Jaat 2’ also on the horizon

Beyond these two projects, Sunny also has Jaat 2 lined up, with the makers reportedly eyeing a December start for filming. However, the exact schedule may hinge on director Gopichand Malineni’s availability, given his other ongoing commitments. Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor has already begun shooting his portions for Ramayana: Part 2, and Sunny is expected to navigate between his various projects as their individual schedules take shape.

Sunny Deol’s recent and upcoming work

On the work front, Sunny’s most recent release was ‘Batwara 1947’, a Partition drama directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, he also featured in the thriller ‘Ikka’. Looking ahead, he has ‘Gabru’, written and directed by Shashank Udapurkar, in his pipeline, along with the action entertainer ‘Baap’, which brings him together with Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff and Mithun Chakraborty.
