As the final stages of the 007 casting for the upcoming ‘James Bond’ film roll around, screenwriter Steven Knight opened up about working on the script. The screenwriter opened up about how the experience has been and how “easy” it was for him to work on the story once he was aware of who would be playing the leading character in the upcoming film.

The screenwriter revealed that the upcoming 007 has already been cast, and working on the script was a breeze for him when he could put a face to the character. He recently appeared on Radio 4’s Today programme, where he opened up about the fact that he has been working on the script for the 26th ‘James Bond’ film with an actor in mind.He shared that he was writing on the basis of the actor who will be playing James Bond, along with what he already knew of the movie and the spy character. He commented, “It’s a bit of both. It does make life a little bit easier if you know who that person is, but also you have to write the character, not the actor.” While he was asked about who will be playing the brand-new James Bond, Knight kept quiet rather than spoiling the surprise and simply replied, “I’ll refer you to my previous answer.”He concluded his answers by saying, “The only thing I can say is it feels like I’m doing my duty for king and country—if you’re a British writer, you have to do it. The thing with Bond is it’s its own universe and its own franchise. Obviously, you have to move it along, but I love where it sits. I love that it’s British and it’s not DC or Marvel.”
