NEW DELHI: Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) chief spokesperson Saurav Das on Friday alleged that Delhi Police personnel entered the house of the party’s North Zone coordinator, Mohan Yadav, in South Extension around 1am and misbehaved with his wife.Das also claimed that Yadav’s two young children were traumatised during the incident, describing the situation as a “state of emergency” in India.“It’s 1 AM and the Delhi Police is illegally breaking into our North Zone Coordinator Mohan Yadav’s house in South Extension. They are also misbehaving with his wife. They have two small kids who are currently traumatised!” Das posted on X.“It’s a state of emergency. The government has completely LOST IT! But we won’t back down. Cockroaches incoming!” Das tweeted. In another post, Das shared what he described as the screams of Yadav and his children, alleging that the volunteer had not broken any law and was being targeted for his association with the movement.“Our North Zone volunteer Mohan Yadav’s SCREAMS.“Let entire India listen to this and the screams of his little kids being thrashed by the Delhi Police.“He hasn’t broken a single law till date. His only ‘crime’ is being a volunteer for a youth movement!“State of Emergency in India!” Das wrote.Sharing another video, Das alleged that the incident showed the government was acting against its own citizens.“Like I said, the Government of India is at war with its own citizens. The visual here proves it,” he said. The allegations could not be independently verified.CJP plans October 10 protest at Jantar MantarThe allegations come ahead of a youth-led CJP protest scheduled for October 10 at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. The party has said the demonstration will focus on alleged “vote theft”, the alleged exclusion of young voters from electoral rolls and other concerns related to the Election Commission.Das had earlier said the party had formally informed Delhi Police about the proposed demonstration and completed the required formalities. He also said young people from across the country were expected to participate.Delhi Police has, meanwhile, warned against the proposed gathering, saying prohibitory restrictions under Section 163 were in force in the national capital.Police have said protests are not permitted at Jantar Mantar or elsewhere while the restrictions remain in force and warned that unauthorised gatherings could invite legal action.
