Surada (Rajani Kanta Mohapatra, Odisha Today) 16/04/2024 : Complaint have been lodged before the ECI about the violation of Model Code of Conduct and Election Commission directives by Surada NAC by placing party symbol in the three entrance gates of Surada using public funds and placing Hindu goddess in party symbol. The Urban Local Body has been placed the tutelary Goddess in party Symbol of Odisha Govt and placed it in the newly built entrance elite welcome board in surada. The NAC is violating the model code of conduct and the directives of Election Commission of India. The Election Commission has clearly mentioned that no political party or government body shall have the right to place their party symbol in public places by using public funds and shall not have the right to place or use any God and Goddess in their party symbol to promote their party and effecting voters emotionally to get votes. Despite of this strict order Surada NAC is demoralizing the Hindu religion placing Hindu goddess in party symbol by using public funds. As a Government body these type of promoting activity of Surada ULB is disheartened the thousands devotees of the Mother Goddess of this region. We should not shake the faith and belief of any religion by doing these types of sully mistakes. It is a mockery thing that the devotion of Surada ULB to a specific political party forced to neglect all the criticism and all the law order declared by the Election commission Of India. To this context written grievances have already been submitted before the following authority explaining the above issue for action. The Executive Officer Surada NAC, The Project Director-CUM-Secretary ,SUDA,ODISHA), The Project Director, DUDA, VK Pandian, the Chairman of 5T Odisha and the than Secretary of Transformation and Private Secretary to the CM of Odisha , Dibyajyoti Parida(IAS) Collector-Cum-District Magistrate Ganjam,, Mathi Vathnan (IAS), (Principal Secretary, H & UD Deptt. Govt of Odisha. The stakeholder of ward no 08 Rajani Mohapatra said, It is a matter of disappointment that, instead of taking action about the violation of Election Commission order and demoralizing the faith an belief of hindu religion the above authorities are remained silent. To this context the councilor again repeated his grievance before the Election Commission of India and the Election Commission of Odisha to keep the respect and his directives and take essential action towards the Violation Of Model Code of Conduct by removing the party symbol and the image of tutelary goddess of Surada region from the elite welcome gate.
