Naveen Patnaik Stable but Under ICU Care; Health, Law Minister Visit Hospital

According to hospital authorities, Patnaik’s condition is stable, and he is responding well to treatment. However, Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling stated that the BJD leader is currently in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for rest and observation.On Sunday evening, Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling, Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, and MLA Babu Singh visited the hospital to assess Patnaik’s condition. The visit was prompted by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, who directed the Health Minister to monitor the situation closely.Speaking to the media, Dr. Mahaling confirmed that Patnaik’s health is stable and that the medical team has been advised to provide the best possible care. “If needed, the government is ready to deploy an additional medical team to support the ongoing treatment,” Mahaling added, extending wishes for Patnaik’s speedy recovery.BJD leaders and supporters gathered at the hospital, with a large crowd of well-wishers seen outside, expressing concern for their leader.

Patnaik, who underwent cervical arthritis surgery at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai on June 22, 2025, had returned to Bhubaneswar on July 12 after a 21-day recovery period.The news of his hospitalisation has drawn widespread attention, with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Deputy Chief Ministers KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, and several other prominent figures wishing him a swift recovery.
