Rourkela: BJP on Thursday suspended its Rourkela functionary Prakash Paswan after it emerged he had booked a room at the Circuit House for two men who were later arrested with firearms and ammunition. The arrests subsequently led police to five more accused, including the alleged supplier of weapons.In a statement, BJP Odisha’s media cell said Paswan has been suspended on the instructions of state president Manmohan Samal for alleged indiscipline and conduct violative of party norms.“Prakash Paswan of Rourkela has been suspended from the party due to indiscipline, misconduct and violation of party discipline,” disciplinary committee state convener Sudarshan Nayak said.The development comes even as Raghunathpalli police intensified their probe into the arms seizure case. Three of the seven accused arrested on Sunday were taken on a two-day remand on Wednesday for detailed interrogation to trace the source of the firearms and examine possible links to a wider network.
