Koraput: A 20-year-old B.Tech student was found hanging in his rented accommodation at Barun Nagar Lane-1 in Gunupur town of Rayagada district on Monday, police said, adding he died by suicide over a personal matter. The deceased was identified as Kaushik Mahapatra, a second-year civil engineering student of a private college in Gunupur. He was originally from the Soro area of Balasore district and had been staying alone in the rented house, said police.Police said Kaushik was found hanging inside the house. “The exact reason behind the suspected suicide has not yet been ascertained. We are investigating the circumstances leading to the death. The body have been recovered and sent for autopsy. The deceased students family has been informed about the incident,” said KKBK Kanhar, IIC, Gunupur police station.
