Berhampur: A migrant worker from Ganjam district and working at a construction company reportedly died at Abu Dhabi recently. Recently, Kailash Nahak, father of the deceased, Kiran Nahak (25) of Tarasigi in Aska block moved the district administration to bring his body back to their native place.Kiran reportedly died at his workplace after an explosion on Friday. He was rushed to the nearby hospital, where the doctors declared him dead. One of his friends communicated about the incident to his family members the same evening.“After conducting an inquiry, we submitted a preliminary report to the labour commissioner through the district administration,” said Subhalaxmi Behera, district labour officer, in-charge, Berhampur. She said they have asked family members of the deceased for more documents.Kiran went to Abu Dhabi two years ago through a labour contractor. His work contract would have got over in three months. He was supposed to return and get married. The DLO said Kiran had not informed the labour office before going to the UAE.He is the second migrant worker from Gajam district to have died in the foreign country in the last one week. Uttam Gouda, 30, of Phasual in Khallikote died in Dubai on Friday. He allegedly fell ill while working at a construction company.District labour officer (DLO) Chhatrapur, Barsharani Jena said they have submitted a report to the govt to bring his body after family members requested the administration. .
