Patrick Mahomes, the Kansas City Chiefs’ top quarterback, has been surrounded by a lot of negativity as he gears up to return to the field in the next few days. While the star player has missed the preseason games, Patrick Mahomes has opened up about his mindset and how he really feels, just days before the next season begins.

According to Perry Miller Carpenter of Heavy, a few hours ago, Patrick Mahomes spoke to reporters about his situation as he opened up about being ready to play against the Denver Broncos.Patrick Mahomes said, “This has always been the plan…Be ready for training camp, get all the reps in training camp, prepare your body that way. So, that when we get to Week 1, you’re ready to play the game and you’ve had the right amount of time off.”The three time Super Bowl Most Valuable Player weighed in on testing his knees while practicing as he added, “I try to not make those hard cuts, but at the end of the day I’m a competitor…”The star player continued, “It just kind of takes over sometimes. You want to still prove it to yourself that you can do it. I’ve been able to do that in certain spots of making quick, reactionary cuts, which I think is the biggest thing. I’ve felt great doing it. The coaches kind of come up to me, like, ‘Hey, let’s calm down a little bit.’”Patrick Mahomes added, “Just being a competitor, I want to go out there and win and give everything I have for the team.”This has sparked renewed hope among fans as many were stressed about his comeback to the field after he sustained ACL and LCL tears in December 2025.
