Four-time Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen is set for a very different racing challenge. The Red Bull star will take on 100 drivers in a unique go-kart race at Silverstone on September 16. Verstappen will start at the back of the 101-driver field and try to overtake every competitor.The event, called Max vs 100, will be broadcast live on Disney+ and ESPN. The race will feature athletes, streamers, content creators and fans from around the world. A purpose-built circuit has been created at Silverstone for the unusual event.

Max vs 100 is a special go-karting event designed around one simple idea. Max Verstappen will have to fight his way through a field of 100 drivers. Unlike a normal race, the Dutchman will not start from the front. He will begin in 101st place.His challenge will be to pass all 100 drivers and reach the front. The event will take place at Silverstone, the famous home of the British Grand Prix. A new circuit has been built specifically for the huge field.The track was designed by former racing driver and karting world champion David Terrien. He has created the layout to handle 101 karts at the same time.The event will take Verstappen back to where his racing journey began. The Red Bull driver first drove a go-kart when he was just four years old. By the age of seven, he was competing in championships.Karting played a major role in developing his racing skills. Verstappen learned how to start races, defend positions and make overtaking moves.Verstappen is excited about returning to karting.“In go-karts you learn all the basics: starts, defending, overtaking. Of course, I spent a long period of my life go-karting, so it’s always nice to return. It’s about understanding the grip of the go-kart. I’ve done so many years in go-karting that you quite naturally get back into things”, Verstappen said.However, Verstappen knows the race will be chaotic.When asked what he was most looking forward to, the four-time champion gave a simple answer.
Who will race Max Verstappen?
The 100-driver field will include competitors from different sports and areas of entertainment.Ultrarunner Arda Saatçi will take part. Basketball shooting specialist Chris “Lethal Shooter” Matthews is also set to race. Freestyle mountain biker Matt Jones will be among the drivers as well. Popular streamers TheGrefg, Caedrel and TheDonato will also get behind the wheel.The rest of the field will include content creators, personalities and everyday fans from around the world. When and where to watch Max Verstappen’s Max vs 100 event?
Max vs 100 will take place on September 16 at Silverstone.There will be no spectators at the venue. Fans will instead be able to watch the event live on Disney+ and the ESPN App.In the United States, ESPN Unlimited subscribers will be able to watch it live on the ESPN App. A delayed broadcast will also air on ESPN2 later that day.
