Keonjhar: Odisha Vigilance on Friday arrested a junior revenue assistant (JRA) of Patna tahasil for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 6,000 in a land mutation case and facilitating issuance of the record of rights (ROR). The accused, B H Umashankar, was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe from a complainant at the tehsil office garage, vigilance officials said.According to vigilance, Umashankar had allegedly demanded Rs 10,000 from the applicant to process a mutation file and issue the ROR. He was nabbed while accepting Rs 6,000. The entire amount was recovered and seized.“The accused caught while taking Rs 6,000 from the complainant. The entire tainted bribe money has been recovered and seized,” said Sudhanshu Pujari, DSP, vigilance, Keonjhar unit.
