Vivek Dahiya opens up about Divyanka Tripathi’s postpartum recovery after welcoming twins: says ‘It is real’

Popular television couple, Divyanka Tripathi and Vivek Dahiya recently welcomed twin baby boys and are enjoying parenthood. Recently, in an interview, Vivek spoke about how becoming parents has changed their lives. He also talked about postpartum depression and said it is very real. While talking to HindiRush, Vivek spoke about postpartum depression and explained that mothers experience many physical and hormonal changes after childbirth. He added that accepting these changes in their bodies can be one of the biggest challenges they face.He shared, “Postpartum depression is real. Because, you know, there are so many changes. There are hormonal changes. The mother starts realising, ‘My body is no longer the body I had before.’ You know, ‘I now have to live with this.’ And it is very difficult.”Vivek further added how after giving birth to twin babies has affected Divyanka’s core strength. He also revealed that the actress followed her workout routine regularly but adjusting to the sudden changes in her body was especially difficult for her. He said, ““Suddenly, it feels like jelly here. The core that you had is suddenly not there at all. You can’t even imagine life without your core, especially if you are someone who works out a lot. Your core is involved in everything. So suddenly, your core strength is gone.”The Yeh Hai Mohabbatein actor went on to talk about the uncertainty that comes with postpartum recovery, “On top of that, you have this jelly-like stomach. And you don’t know how you will get back, how you will bounce back, how long it will take. And your daily activity is just around feeding, feeding, feeding, feeding, feeding,” he said.In the interview, Vivek also spoke about the new phase of parenthood, “It’s a completely new phase, and there is a lot for us to learn. As parents, I feel the responsibility has increased because everything is new to us. I make mistakes and learn something new every day while trying to build a bond with my children. They were only three months old recently, so we have already come a long way. They are twins and were premature, so they were extremely tiny when we first held them. Their eyes would not even open properly. In the beginning, it was difficult to fully understand what was happening. But slowly, you realise that this child is now your responsibility for life, and they don’t know anything yet.”Vivek described the parenthood phase as learning and beautiful, “For the last one-and-a-half years, I have been attending workshops on AI and learning how to train it by giving it the right prompts. I look at parenting in a similar way. Every day, I think about what I should say or do, what activities I should introduce and what a father should do to help them grow. Hopefully, they will turn out just fine. So, this is a beautiful phase, but it is also a phase of learning something new every day,” he shared.
