Balasore: A 17‑year‑old college student was allegedly raped by her male friend and his associate in Balasore district on Wednesday, police said on Thursday.According to sources, the girl, a IInd year student, had gone to Panchalingeswar forest on Wednesday with a male friend (17). During the outing, she was allegedly rape by her companion and another youth. After committing the crime, the accused reportedly abandoned her near Talnagar before fleeing the scene.A highway patrol police party spotted the girl and rescued her. She was handed over to her relatives. Acting on her complaint, police registered a case under the POCSO Act along with other relevant sections of the law. Police sources said efforts are on to arrest the accused.
