Bhubaneswar: The BJP state unit on Thursday announced a month-long “Seva Sankalp Abhiyan” from Sept 17 to Oct 17 to commemorate 25 years of public service by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, beginning with his tenure as Gujarat chief minister in Oct 2001.Addressing a news conference, state president of BJP and Rajya Sabha MP Manmohan Samal said the campaign would be conducted across the state down to booth level, focusing on public service, social participation and welfare activities. Programmes will include blood donation camps, cleanliness drives, awareness campaigns, Anganwadi outreach, service initiatives and creative competitions in schools and colleges.Campaign coordinator and minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra said 13 major programmes have been planned, including a mega blood donation camp on Sept 17, “Mo Swapnara Bharat” competitions, street plays highlighting govt schemes, Anganwadi outreach events, ‘Seva Jyoti Yatra’, innovation challenges for youth and a ‘Jansevak Mahakumbh’ involving elected representatives.
