Bhubaneswar: A 20-year old tusker of Chandaka wildlife sanctuary was tranquilised on Tuesday evening to be provided treatment for its leg injuries. According to wildlife authorities, the animal was ailing on Monday after which a decision was taken to dart it for treatment. “We kept a watch on its movement and with the help of vets from OUAT and Nandankanan zoo, it was provided treatment following a tranquilisation. After treatment, the elephant was released into Baratpur forest,” said DFO (Chandaka) Binod Acharya.
