Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have stepped up security at their new Ohio mansion to keep the nosy neighbours away from their new Ohio property. If gotten too close, the person shall receive a voice warning telling them not to enter. According to a Page-Six report, the newlyweds bought the 21,000-square-foot lakefront estate in Bratenahl for $5.35 million in March.The eight-bedroom, 11-bathroom mansion sits along Lake Erie and is among the couple’s growing list of properties. The security measures come as the area prepares for increased attention following the couple’s move.

The Bratenahl property offers extensive space and privacy. It has eight bedrooms and 11 bathrooms, along with a game room and a private theatre.The mansion is located in a relatively secluded lakefront community, several miles from Kelce’s childhood home in Cleveland Heights.A neighbour recently approached the property and received an automated warning after getting too close to the house.“A neighbor approached the house and got a voice warning about not passing onto the property after getting too close to the house,” a nearby neighbour told Page Six.It is not clear whether the warning system covers the entire property or was installed specifically around the mansion.Patricia Knight Gary, a veteran local realtor with Howard Hanna Realty, said she was not aware of any new fencing being installed across the village.“The village is a relatively secluded lakefront property. Something may have been set up at that particular home which is their private estate, but in terms of any additional fencing for the village, I’m not aware of that,” Knight Gary told Page Six.
Police already patrol the area
Bratenahl already has security measures in place, with a small police force regularly patrolling the village. Nearby condominiums also have round-the-clock security.“It does have a small police force that gauge and patrol the village on a regular basis,” Knight Gary said. “And then even at the condos [down the street], there is 24-hour security, so I would anticipate that there might be some discussion in terms of increasing that.”The arrival of Swift and Kelce could therefore bring additional security arrangements, although no wider changes have been confirmed.
When did Swift and Kelce buy the house?
Swift and Kelce purchased the Ohio mansion in March for $5.35 million. The purchase came before they married in July at Madison Square Garden.Despite the high-profile move, the couple have not caused any major disruption in the neighbourhood so far, according to Page Six.The property is also not expected to become their main residence.Kelce’s Leawood, Kansas, home remains their primary base while he continues playing for the Kansas City Chiefs, according to a source cited by Page Six.Swift also owns properties in Nashville, Rhode Island and Beverly Hills, as well as a Tribeca apartment.“So they have plenty of options depending on where they need to be,” the source said.
Neighbours expect more attention
Local residents are now waiting to see how the celebrity couple’s arrival affects the quiet community.“We found out publicly when everyone else did (about their move),” Knight Gary said.She added, “We’re waiting to see what impact this will have in terms of the additional traffic, additional people, and the village, but I think we certainly understand that this is not their full-time home either, so we have no way of knowing at this point just what the impact will be. It’s almost a wait and see, quite frankly.”The new celebrity residents could also affect local property prices. Knight Gary said some homeowners may hope the couple’s presence increases the value of properties in the area.“I would think that certainly the residents and those who are selling would certainly have some hope that this might do something to increase values, but it is very difficult to gauge and anticipate it at this point.”
