A powerful typhoon approaching Japan’s Pacific coast has raised concerns over possible disruption to the Asian Games 2026, with organisers taking a precautionary step by postponing the equestrian eventing competition as Typhoon Dujuan threatens to bring heavy rain and strong winds to parts of the country.The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) warned that conditions could deteriorate rapidly as Dujuan moves towards eastern Japan. The storm was expected to pass near the Boso Peninsula in Chiba Prefecture, east of Tokyo, on Monday evening, while heavy rain could continue through Tuesday.The agency also warned of the possibility of linear rainbands over parts of the Kanto-Koshin and Tokai regions. Such systems can produce intense rainfall over a concentrated area for several hours, increasing the risk of flash floods and landslides.
