A month of working from a mountain destination can sound very different from a short holiday. There is no quick hotel check-out or return home after a few days. For a longer stay, even everyday costs become part of the travel budget.Travel creators Anjali and Naman recently shared a look at their month in Ladakh, including what they spent while working and travelling there. Their expense breakdown covers everything from their room and food to local transport and travel around the region.
Accommodation cost ₹30,000
The couple had initially expected to find a room for around ₹15,000. Food expenses
The couple said around ₹9,000 was spent on food during the stay.They also had separate spending on snacks, groceries and eating outside. Snacks and groceries cost ₹2,500, while ₹5,000 went towards eating and drinking outside.They said, “Snacks aur grocery pe ₹2,500, aur bahar khaane-peene ka mann kiya toh ₹5,000 alag se gaya (₹2,500 for snacks and ₹5,000 for outside food).”
Scooter rental
For local travel, the couple rented a scooter for ₹2,100.They also had access to their host’s scooter for free during the stay.₹30,000 for travelling around LadakhThe couple’s expenses also included a trip around Ladakh, which they said cost approximately ₹30,000.Their travel spending further included the journey from Manali to Leh and a return flight to Delhi.
Total expense for two
After adding their different expenses, the couple said their month-long experience came to ₹96,600 for two people.“So that makes living – working – travelling in Ladakh ₹96,600 for two people.
