Rourkela: Students of Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) hostel protested on Sunday over an alleged unhygienic method being used to prepare food in the canteen after a video purportedly showing a worker pressing dough with his feet went viral on social media.The students refused to have breakfast and lunch and demanded action against the food contractor and those responsible for the alleged incident.According to the students, the incident occurred on Saturday evening. They alleged that a worker was using his feet to knead dough to prepare rotis. The video triggered outrage among boarders, who gathered at the canteen and protested over food quality and hygiene standards.BPUT director Shiv Kumar Mishra said a fact-finding committee has been constituted to examine the allegations. “The committee will meet on Monday and submit its findings,” Mishra said.
