Berhampur: Former chief minister and leader of opposition Naveen Patnaik is scheduled to visit the flood-affected areas of Ganjam district on Saturday.He will interact with the flood victims in Aska and Sorada blocks and his own constituency at Hinjili and Sheragada blocks. Earlier, a delegation of the BJD led by the party’s senior MLA Pramila Mallick had visited several flood-affected areas and interacted with the people.Lenin Mohanty, BJD’s media coordinator, said Patnaik was constantly monitoring the flood situation in Ganjam and Gajapati districts since the IMD forecast for a cyclone and heavy rains. He had also discussed with the district administration the relief and restoration works in the affected areas.Former minister Pratap Jena said here that during his visit, he would take stock of the situation and discuss with the affected people directly to assess the actual damage caused by the rains and floods in the district, particularly in his own assembly constituency, Hinjili.Several senior BJD leaders on Friday visited the flood-affected areas and interacted with the victims.A delegation of the Congress, led by the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee president Bhakta Charan Das, on Friday visited Bhanjanagar and Sorada areas and interacted with the people.
