The incident was reported from the Dankaur police station area of Greater Noida, where a man identified as Akash Nagar approached the police after receiving the unexpected package. According to reports, he had ordered the device online for work and paid Rs 1,999 in advance.
He paid Rs 1,999 for an Android device
According to Akash, he came across the offer online and decided to order an Android device that he needed for work. Reports from India Today said the order was placed through Instagram, while other reports describe it as an online website purchase. He made the full payment digitally before waiting for the delivery. Like any online shopper, Akash expected the parcel to contain the product he had selected. Instead, the delivery turned into a shock.
Parcel arrived at around 5 PM
The package reportedly reached Akash’s home at around 5 pm on Monday through a courier service. After receiving it, he opened the parcel expecting to find his Android device. But the box did not contain the electronic product. According to Akash, it was filled with cow dung manure instead. He realised that something had gone seriously wrong with the order and that he may have been cheated. A video showing the parcel and its contents has also circulated on social media, bringing further attention to the incident. Reports said Akash had video evidence related to the parcel when he approached the authorities.
Akash approaches cybercrime police
After discovering what was inside the parcel, Akash approached the police and lodged a complaint. He told authorities that he had paid Rs 1,999 for the Android device but received a packet containing cow dung instead. He has sought action against those responsible for the alleged fraud. The case has now moved beyond the bizarre delivery itself, as investigators are trying to establish how the order was placed and where the transaction went wrong.
